About ReBasin Technology AS

The company ReBasin Technology, founded in September 2017, develops and markets software tools for multi-scale geological restoration through geological time. In particular, we provide the software technology 4DPlates, which has been developed in close collaboration with Statoil, to the oil and gas market.

ReBasin Technology is a subsidiary of Kalkulo AS, a leading consulting company offering services to the energy sector in terms of tailored software development and technical analyses. In combination, Kalkulo and ReBasin technology can provide turnkey solutions based on 4DPlates, including access to and training on the 4DPlates product as well as advanced dynamic analyses of your own data sets.

Both ReBasin Technology and Kalkulo collaborate closely with Simula Research Laboratory AS, Norways leading research institution in the ICT domain. Both companies are spin-offs from Simula.

Are Magnus Bruaset, PhD
Chief Executive Officer

Bruaset has 25 years of experience from research, management and research-based innovation, and entrepreneurship. He is also the CEO of Kalkulo and an adjunct professor of scientific computing at the University of Oslo, and has held several scientific and management positions at Simula.

Trond Vidar Stensby, MSc
Chief Software Architect

Stensby has more than 20 years experience from software development incorporating advanced visualisation of time-dependent geospatial data sets and geometric modeling. Prior to joining Kalkulo in 2006, he developed software solutions for visualising weather forecasts used by major TV networks world-wide. At Kalkulo, he has been the principal architect and developer of the 4DPlates technology.

Christian Tarrou  
Project Director

Tarrou has extensive experience in geometric modeling, scientific visualisation, and project management acquired over more than 20 years in research and industry. In addition to being part of the initial 4DPlates development team, he has deeply involved in several case studies using the 4DPlates software for development of dynamic regional models.
